If you live in Miami (you lucky person, you) or just happen to be there this weekend there’s only one thing to do this Sunday, March 15, from 11 am to 7 p.m. That is to stuff your face with assorted frituras and then dance the pounds off at Calle Ocho for 23 blocks along SW 8th Street. For 31 years now, kiosks of international foods have been tempting Miami natives and visitors while performers from all genres (Latin, Caribbean, Hip Hop, Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton) provide the carnaval-esque entertainment. This year will be no exception. And if you’ve got little ones in tow, there will be tons of family-friendly activities. Eso si, wear comfy shoes. Don’t try to be cute by rocking some four-inch heels. Or do try, but then don’t make everyone else leave early cause your feet are all beat up.
Some Latin acts to look out for:
Baby Bash at the Power96 Music Stage
Fat Joe, Flex and Pitbull (Mr. 305 himself) at the Coca Cola Musical Stage
Baby Rasta y Gringo, Oro Solido, and Rey Ruiz at the Univision 23 Stage.
