As we get ready for this year's Sundance, a film that made its debut at the film festival back in 2008 is finally getting released today on DVD. From Peruvian director and mun2 Creative Director Ricardo de Montreuil (La Mujer de mi Hermano) comes Máncora, a road trip drama overflowing with lust, incest (does sleeping with your step-bro count?), betrayal, the occasional high, and hot sexy bodies starring two guys and a girl. Sound familiar?
Well, it’s no Y Tu Mama Tambien, obviously, but the cast is still pretty great to stare at—Elsa Pataky, Jason Day, Enrique Murciano, Liz Gallardo, Phellipe Haagensen, Anahi de Cardena—and Mancora, the surfer-paradise setting north of Lima, provides a nice escape for those of us stuck in the dead of winter. Man, I need to get to Peru, and quick!
