Flashback Fridays: Nina Sky

I’ve asked myself this question more than once, even as recently as this week, as I peeped Nina Sky’s new vid for “On Some Bullstuff”: Why, oh why, aren’t they more famous? They’re adorable. They can certainly sing. They’re super hard-working. And they’re versatile.

Take their self-titled debut album, for instance. At times the way they weaved their R&B harmonies reminded me of a younger, fresher Zhane. At the same time, they effortlessly cranked out dancefloor anthems with a Caribbean flavor (“Move Ya Body,” “Turnin Me On”). Here’s to hoping they can achieve their well-deserved A-list status with their next album. The girls actually stopped by the office not that long ago to play some tracks from the new LP and believe me, there’s definitely some hints of greatness there.
