Flashback Fridays: 28 Weeks Later

I’ll admit that I wore a face mask on my flight back from Denver to NYC earlier this week in response to the threat of swine flu, more accurately called the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus because it’s a hot little mix of swine, avian, and human strains. I will also admit that I bought a pack of latex gloves as a precaution. And I’ve been obsessive about washing my hands ever since I was a little girl, so...

But then I came across this statistic: the regular flu kills anywhere between 250,000—500,000 people annually around the world. So I think we can all relax for now. If you’re really scared, check out our article on the Top Five Ways to Avoid the Swine flu. But most important of all, if you are trying to keep your sanity, “Don’t Panic!” Duly noted.

For those of you who are looking for a weekend thrill, however, I highly recommend watching a truly terrifying scenario, i.e. 28 Weeks Later, by Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who took the rage virus flick franchise, (the first installment of which was Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later) to the next level.

Fortunately, it’s just a flick. Or is it? Bwuahahaha…
