Bloodsuckers

I have a dilemma. Which of these should be my next read: Carlos Ruiz Zafon’s The Angel’s Game, which we’ve already established is worth your time, or Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain, which is sitting on my desk?

I think I’m going to go with the latter, about a vampire virus that starts in Manhattan and poses a threat to humanity. The thriller, cowritten with Chuck Hogan, is the first of a three-book deal Del Toro signed with William Morrow (an imprint of HarperCollins) recently. Plus, vampires are hot right now.

They’re both dark, so I guess it boils down to one thing: Do you prefer ghouls or bloodsuckers?
