Here’s the rumor: Puerto Rican actress Naya Rivera—who plays promiscuous cheerleader Santana Lopez on FOX’s hit series, Glee, is allegedly “getting it on” (Marvin-Gaye style) with her co-star Mark Salling, who plays football stud, Puck on the show.
But is the rumor true or false? Here’s what we know. Last week, TV Guide broke the salacious news that “Nark” (or should we call them, “Maya”) had entered into a secret “committed relationship.” I thought: “Finally, Naya’s getting a great storyline!” They don’t give her anything to do on the show, so at the very least she can entertain us by having a personal life that’s worth gossiping about, right?
But then my TV-shaped heart smashed into a million pieces when EOnline.com reported that the rumor wasn't true, based on a boring statement they obtained from Salling’s camp: "Mark is not in a committed relationship at this time as his primary focus has been his work.” I’ve never known a guy to pass up on the opportunity to date a beautiful girl because he was “too busy working,” so this all sounds like a bunch of baloney to me (and not the good kind). Making it harder to believe is that sources close to the actors previously confirmed that the two were dating.
I want to know what you think, Vivo Por Tivo fans. Do you buy Salling’s story that he and Naya aren’t dating? Or do you agree with me that they’re just really good at keeping things on the down low?
