Dear Dolores:

I’m a divorced, 31-year-old single mother. My family is always saying that soon I’ll be a solterona and asking me when I’ll remarry. I don’t want to be rude to them, but I’m okay being single. Help me, please!

Dear Deli:

M’ija, sometimes a little rudeness is called for to get people to butt out of our personal matters. But if you want to be nice, you can say one of the following at the next family gathering:

1) "Brush up on your Spanish, queridos. I can never really be a solterona since I’ve been married once before."

2) "I’m waiting my turn. I’m number five on Donald Trump’s A-list."

3) "April 1. Save the date; your invitation is in the mail."

4) "For the same reason I gave you when you asked me the same question last week, and the week before that, and the week before that."
