Dolores dice...Imaginary Infidelity

Dear Dolores:

My boyfriend and I have been living together for two years. He’s a great guy who’s always there for me. The problem is that he’s always admiring other women and commenting on how beautiful they are. He says he loves me and that he’s “just looking.” I go crazy just thinking he will be unfaithful to me.

Dear Celosa:

You will definitely go loca worrying about the possibility of infidelity. Trust, along with loyalty, respect, communication and love is the foundation of a healthy relationship. If you cannot trust him, you need to reevaluate that. As for the “just looking” thing, of course we all want our hombres to only have ojos for us. But that’s asking for a lie. Beauty in any shape or form is to be looked at and admired. (Isn’t that why we women spend billions of dollars a year on stuff to make ourselves gorgeous?) All we can ask of the guys—and of ourselves when a prime man specimen goes by—is to ogle with discretion.
