So in addition to sitting with a bag of frozen peas on my face for 5 minutes every morning, there’s something else I’ve been doing lately to drag my face up from the drain; that is applying a tinted moisturizer, namely Mac Cosmetics Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 ($30, maccosmetics.com). I use the Medium Dark shade, and with just a dime-size amount I’m able to even out my complexion, give my skin a slight tan and protect it from the sun.

I was at my boyfriend’s house this weekend with the worst set of chapped lips I’ve ever had. They were white, cracked, peeling, even bleeding from two slits along the sides of my mouth. Not helping matters was the fact that I couldn’t stop from biting and sucking on them. Because, you know, for that one minute after you do your lips feel moisturized again. But the more you lick your lips, the more you dry them out. So I was just making the problem worse.

Let me begin by saying, I don’t own an iPhone. However, if I did own an iPhone, I would get two “apps:” the first is a game called Sally’s Spa, and the second would be an as-yet-to-be-created app that would magically do all my work for me. The first one is actually available for download for $1.99. Sally’s Spa is a cartoon spa that you yourself can run; you have to manage your time and make your customers happy with spa services like facial masks and brow shaping. You choose what each customer needs, and supervise their trip from entrance to cash out.

Did everyone watch the maiden voyage of Lopez Tonight? George Lopez welcomed his first late-night show guests on his new TBS show, and I was psyched! Go, George! Now, I’ll reserve my opinions on the show to discuss a beauty topic of greater concern to me: Eva Longoria Parker’s wig. Why? Why, Eva, did you feel the need to mark this special occasion with a muy obvious strawberry blonde hairpiece?

So here’s my peeve about makeup kits: I think most are filled with makeup shades that are not realistically flattering for everyday use. Most of them feature poppy eye colors—like mint green and fuchsia—that you probably wouldn’t sport to the office. And rarely are makeup kits full of makeup for every part of your face.

I'm at a photo shoot for Latina magazine right now, and we're shooting a beauty story about skin. Our gorgeous Brazilian model is blessed with amazingly clear skin (lucky!), but the makeup artist always has to do his or her magic for the camera. In this case, the magic came in the form of Lancome Nutrix Royal Body Intense Restoring Lipid-Enriched Lotion ($29, lancome-usa.com). It's a makeup artist favorite, I learned.

I’m obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. She was born Norma Jeane Mortenson (later baptized as Norma Jeane Baker) to her mother Gladys Pearl Monroe in Los Angeles, 1926. Now, did you know that her mother, Miss Gladys, was born in Porfirio Diaz, Mexico, which is known today as Piedras Negras, Mexico? The parents of Gladys Monroe had lived there for years while they worked.

My face reveals everything. My stress, my fears, my years, my take-out dinner habit; my skin retains all my salt and emotions, causing it to appear puffy, saggy, tired and sallow. And I have yet to find a miracle cream that can immediately change any of this. To combat the million-year-old reflection that’s been greeting me in the mirror these past few mornings, I have to recline with a frozen bag of peas on my face for 10 minutes.

I love a good rosy stain on my cheeks. However, my issue with liquid “stain” color formulas in general is that they can be tough to blend. If you don’t smooth them over the right spots within 10 seconds, you’re often left with uneven streaks down your face. So I tend to go for creamy cheek color in rich, vibrant shades. And Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm ($34, revolutionorganics.com for retail locations) is as easy-breezy as it gets. The natural formula is so beyond simple to blend over your skin.
