I can’t afford a Dolce & Gabbana dress. But Dolce & Gabbana Shine Lipstick ($30, saksfifthavenue.com) is something I can purchase without sending my boyfriend and bank account plummeting. Dolce & Gabbana Make Up (dolcegabbanamakeup.com) is something so glamorous, so special, so easy to covet that it wipes away all self-control and reasonable logic.

I knew a kid who used to eat butter right out of the tub. (It could have been my brother; or it could have been me. I'll never tell.) Whatever, the point is that now just the thought of eating butter grosses me out so completely I have to quickly change the subject. But before I do, let me tell you about a great find: Korres Lip Butter ($10, korresusa.com). The smooth balm feels soft and cushiony on your lips – and comes in tasty flavors far better than Parkay.

If you’ve been lucky enough to spend time in a spa, you’ll know the smell I’m talking about here. When you first walk through the doors of a spa, you’re usually met by the tranquil sounds of birds chirping and water falling from some zen-like indoor sculpture. And your nose is usually met with the faint scent of herbs and florals like orange, rosemary, chamomile and lavender. Now I’ve never been one to try and recreate a spa experience at home – who has the time?

I swear I never thought it could be possible: One product that allows you to paint on smoky eyes without needing three pots of eye shadow, two brushes and a stick of kohl. And as I use it everyday, I am still in awe of just how easy it is. CoverGirl Smokyshadowblast in Onyx Smoke ($8.49, drugstore.com), is a soft, greasy – but not in a bad way – double-sided stick; one side holds a dark pointed bit of color and the other holds a rounded lighter bit of color.

The Body Shop's new Kiss of Color Cheek Blush ($14, thebodyshop-usa.com) has been my go-to secret for months now. I got a preview of the pop-up blush and have been addicted to it from the start. Here’s how it works: Unscrew the little white tube and a round sponge applicator pops out of one side; the other holds a cake of pressed blush powder.

I can’t get enough volume in my hair. I sleep with it wet, make it all kinds of knotty and use hair spray like it’s my job, all to make my hair high. And those beachy Gisele-like waves? I live for them. And I just found a formula that makes them so easy to achieve: Redken Style Connection Wool Shake 08 (redken.com for retail salon locations).

I’m in such a lovey mood today, despite severe deadlines, temperatures and global issues. Sometimes you just get bitten by the love bug and become all Velveeta cheesiness and gooey sentiment. I can’t stop dreaming about clichéd Valentines, squishy hugs and good old-fashioned smoochin’! And naturally, the latter makes me think of lipstick.
