Transform Yourself in Seconds

Since I went blonde a few months ago (mental note: book touch-up
appointment) I’ve become more open to the idea of outward
transformation. However, almost simultaneously, upon turning 30, I’ve
also become more leery of trying trendy-trends on a whim. So how to reconcile the two? I don’t want to get stuck in a style rut, but I
don’t want to indulge every new fad that comes my way. You can get away
with that impulsiveness in your 20s; you’re young, you’ll be forgiven
for that glittery smoky eye. So now recently I had the opportunity to
try the Tru2Life Fiber Clip In Bangs from hairdo (hairuwear.com for retail locations).
It’s a long, soft, side-swept bang that you easily clip into the front
of your crown. That’s right: It’s a hairpiece. I scoffed as I clipped
the light brown tail to the top of my forehead, then I looked in the
mirror, and I smiled. I had bangs! They looked … real! I felt daring in a
chic, yet subversive kind of way. But I was too chicken to debut them
in public. I’m going to a wedding in Chicago this weekend and I’m
bringing them with me! And I’m going to wear them! Apparently I’m newly
brave in my 30s. I’ll let you all know how it goes!
