It’s almost sandal season and my heels are in a sad state. They are white, flaky and rough as a cheese grater. It’s time to whip out the big guns. When skin gets like this—mostly in thicker patches found on heels, elbows and knees—you need to moisturize with a cream containing Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA); this acid breaks down those outer layers of dead skin to exfoliate and reveal the new softer skin underneath. I’m currently using NeoStrata Problem Dry Skin Cream ($30), but there are plenty of drugstore varieties with these acids that are readily available and super affordable. So get steppin’!
