Get the Bed Head

I feel like I’ve spent the better part of my adult life trying to perfect the “bed head” look. Real bed head hair is a sloppy bird’s nest of a situation best tamed before entering civilization. Artificial bed head can often look overwrought. Like you just tried way too hard. Products I’ve used to produce this style: waxes, pomades, hairspray, salt sprays, etc. And I’ve realized that you need more than just product. You need to work at it. Yes, this style that’s supposed to be all about reckless abandon is a pain in the arse to create. Figures. But here’s how I’ve managed to make it work: Start with wet hair and spray it with David Babaii for Wildaid Bohemian Beach Spray ($10). Wait until it dries, then spray strands with the salty liquid again. This will give you texture and a piece-y look that’s almost just right. Then take a 1-inch barrel curling iron and start curling random pieces. Finish with light hold hairspray, style with fingers and viola! The hardest, sexiest, easiest-looking hairstyle ever.
