The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of

This past weekend, my best friend and her husband left with their daughter for a week-long vacation to Disney World—the place where dreams come true. Their daughter is the same age as Dessa so I'm sure she is in heaven. Since I first became pregnant with Dessa almost three years ago, I've thought about the first time I'd take our kids to Disney. I went almost every year as a child and it holds a really special place in my heart.
If someone asked me two years ago what my dream travel destination would be, I'd have said something trés chic like Bali or Spain or maybe Italy. Fast forward into motherhood years and I can't stop thinking about going to Disney. Having a toddler, I now completely understand how parents would plan trips year after year after year. I used to think that planning trips for young children was a waste since they aren't likely to remember much. But now my heart aches to go to Disney because I know how much joy and wonder I'd see on Dessa's face.
Unfortunately, having quit my corporate job means adhering to a strict budget that doesn't exactly include an excursion to Disney anytime in the near future. So what's a mami to do? Cross her fingers and say a little prayer. I'm a determined kind of girl and I'd give life and limb for my babies. I want Disney bad, so I'm going to find a way to make Disney happen. One way I'm working towards Disney is trying my luck out and seeing if I get selected for their Moms Panel. I answered a few questions, hit submit and now I'm crossing my fingers and lighting a little candle.
Have you ever taken a trip to Disney with a toddler or a baby (or, yikes, both!)? Have any tips?
