Bland and cluttered, this bedroom wall had no real style or personality. The strategy? Punch up the intensity of the walls and color palette and find products at The Home Depot in interesting shapes that make it pleasing to the eye.

An antique gold mirror was exactly what was needed to give this wall personality! The perfect touch of gold in a non-traditional shape was added between two frames. The old dresser was replaced with a beautiful side table that adds a feminine touch and the perfect amount of light with this simple table lamp we picked up at The Home Depot.

Next up…the window treatments. Same-color blinds blended with the blah color on the wall and added nothing exciting to the room. In addition, the oversized dresser didn’t help by being positioned right in front of the window.

Our Home Décor and Lifestyle Expert, Martin Amado, chose bamboo Roman shades and crepe curtains to add sophistication. The bamboo texture and color add such a nice feel to the room, proving that spending a small amount of money can make a huge difference. And, by moving the bed right under the window, the sunlight can now shine through each morning for the perfect start to any day.

Voilà! From boring to wow, this teal color was just perfect, adding some much-needed character to the room. Plus, with DIY stenciling on the wall, it was super easy to add even more personality to the room. To top it off, the painted furniture-a hot design trend right now-made the whole room feel fresher and lighter.
