With the sunny weather and the 3-day weekend ahead, we’re already making mental notes of all the beauty essentials we want on-hand. Here’s what we’ll be packing in our tote:
1. Sunscreen stick. The last thing we want to do mid-day is reapply a goopy, white sunscreen on top of our makeup, but we are willing to swipe on a clear sunscreen stick. It’s as easy as putting on lip balm. Try Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Targeted Sun Defense Stick SPF 50, elizabetharden.com.

In our recent interview with Sara Paxton, we asked her about her favorite beauty product. And the sincere actress excitedly went on...and on...and on about a vibrating face brush called the Clarisonic Mia ($149, clarisonic.com). “I got it last year and I’m obsessed with it. I use it every day and ever since I got it, I haven’t gotten a zit, so it’s kind of amazing!,” Sara says.

Mirta de Perales, an icon in the beauty industry, particularly for us Latinas, passed away last week on May 3, 2011. One of the first Hispanic women to find huge success in the beauty industry in the U.S., de Perales was 88 years old when she died from Alzheimer's disease.
The Cuban mogul was successful early on in her native Cuba, but moved to the United States after the revolution with her children and little more than $5 in her pocket. Eventually, she returned to what she knew here in America, and founded Mirts de Perales Inc.

While dishing out recipes from her new cookbook, Eva’s Kitchen, this week, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria shared another type of recipe: her homemade face mask!
Eva’s skin is always incredibly radiant, and now we know why—she exfoliates weekly with her homemade face mask, made of coffee, lemon juice, and olive oil. The coffee grounds remove the dry, flaky skin cells that make you look dull, and—because they contain caffeine—rev up circulation, while lemon juice brightens and olive oil hydrates.
