Once you get used to using a specific razor it can be hard to switch to something else. I’ve been using my trusty razor for years, but I had to try the new ShaveMate Diva 6 ($9 for a pack of 3, Target stores) because the handle is filled with shaving cream. Cool, right?

The ever-popular Carrie Bradshaw character of Sex and the City fame is now the inspiration for a real life fragrance called SJP NYC. The bottle is as brash, colorful and sexy as its namesake. Tell us: Are you dying for a fragrant piece of this style icon, which will be released early next year, or are you over the thrill?

You’ve probably heard of LED, or photo light therapy, that’s offered by Dermatologists, but now this technology is also offered in home gadgets. LED lights on the skin help repair it frome acne, and it also reduces fine lines. To test this technology, I’ve been using the Beam by ANSR, which came in the Acne Care Kit ($185). The kit also includes a face wash, day lotion and night cream.

The New York City store has eagerly unveiled its newly renovated first floor beauty department this week. The sprawling space is split into separate “rooms” via color scheme and brand compartmentalization. Super-high displays, photographs and signage make it easy to find your favorite label in a sea of chic names like YSL, Lancome, Estee Lauder and Clinique. Bumble and Bumble has introduced a styling bar, where for a small fee a trained artist will dry-style your hair on the spot.

Scrubs work to slough off dead skin cells and help clear clogged pores, but some can be too rough on skin and shouldn’t be used every day. Beauty brand Mark seems to have taken this into consideration by creating exfoliating granules (in dry form) that are separate from the liquid cleanser. This way you can decide how rough the scrub will be by adding as many or as few granules as you's like.

I’m not one to wear full on makeup on a daily basis, but I do use a little bit of tinted moisturizer sometimes for a touch of even color. I wanted to try Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation ($50, sephora.com) because it claims to be nothing like a traditional heavy foundation. I’m also a fan of the brand’s founder, celebrity dermatologist Dr.

I think I just found my new best friend in a skincare product! I have combination skin, so my forehead and nose get shiny throughout the day. I think the worst thing to do in this case is plop on loads of powder, which can look cakey and lead to clogged pores. I usually go for blotting papers, but I just tried Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Oil Control Spray ($35, cosmedicine.com) and my shiny patches vanished in a flash.

Who doesn’t love a good informercial, huh? C’mon! The George Foreman Grill, The Magic Bullet, the Ped Egg, they’re all amazing! Telebrand’s Ped Egg is actually quite a success story, it being a good product and all. The mirco files on the plastic “egg” make smoothing callused feet easy, and the packaging is just so darn cute.

Sula’s Paint & Peel Sula Collection ($10, sulabeauty.com) consists of nail polish shades that easily shed off nails without using remover. I painted my nails with Modern Mauve—a bright violet shade—that goes on like regular polish. You need two coats to get even coverage. If you don’t put on a topcoat, though, the water-based formula starts to peel at the edges as soon as it dries.
