Toilet paper, affordable baby clothing, cat food, protein-shake mix, Hot Pockets—all these things and more are commonly found under the Target bull’s eye. However, with their shelves now exclusively stocking mega makeup brands like Sonia Kashuk, Australian and British imports like NP by Napoleon Perdis and JK Jemma Kid, and fantastic stand-bys like the amazing Olay Profesional Pro-X collection, Target is now making a new mark in the beauty industry. Designer fragrances from the likes of Dolce and Gabanna to Burberry to Calvin Klein can be purchased from target.com. And cheeky lines like Soap & Glory—from Bliss Spa founder Marcia Kilgore—have found a home ripe for the growth of their cult status. (A note: Wait for the July release of Soap & Glory Glow Getter, a delicious body bronzing spray that’s being released here in the U.S. before it goes abroad.) Overall, we find the red-space super chain a healthy, happy medium between the department store and drugstore.
