Our Latest Nail Obsession!

Our Latest Nail Obsession!
Retna Ltd. (2), OPI

If you’ve envied Fergie’s funky nail art (remember her leopard print and her zebra stripe tips?), then you’re about to be obsessed with the latest nail art-inspired polish. It’s called OPI Black Shatter and will be sold at salons, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Ulta, Beauty First, Chatters, and Beauty Brands starting in January for $8.50.

Easier and faster than Minx or other decal polishes, all you have to do is paint this on like regular nail polish, then—after a few minutes—the polish cracks into a one-of-a-kind leopard-like design. Based on our testing, here’s the best way to apply it:

1.    After you file and clean your nails, paint on two coats of a regular nail polish. So far, we’re loving metallic shades (gold, silver, and light blue metallic) and neutrals (cream, nude, or pink).

2.    Let the polish dry completely, then apply one thick coat (in as few swipes as you can) of Black Shatter. The polish cracks better with thick application.

3.    If you don’t want a matte finish (which is what the black polish has), brush on a glossy clear top coat.

4.    Now, brace yourself for tons of questions and comments. So far, our friends are completely amazed, our mothers are mostly horrified, our men are generally confused, and we can’t stop wearing it!
