Does This Really Work? Vibrating Foundation

I was eager to try the new Lancôme Oscillation PowerFoundation ($48, as soon as I heard about it. It’s a mineral powder foundation with a sponge applicator that actually pulsates when you press the button on the handle. These vibrations (that’s 7,000 micro-vibrations per minute to be exact) are meant to help the mineral formula blend onto skin better.

I’m used to applying my mineral makeup with a brush that I have to move around in circles, but I barely had to move my hand to apply the PowerFoundation. Before opening it, you just shake the pot to get powder on the plush, round sponge. Then you remove the applicator from the pot and press the small button on its side as you lightly glide it over your face. Like its mascara and eyelash primer counterparts, the PowerFoundation makes a prominent buzzing sound but feels very gentle to the touch. The powder— which contains anti-oxidant rich Vitamin E, soothing Aloe Vera and offers SPF 21 protection—goes on evenly in a flash without looking cakey. And I noticed it leaves the tiniest bit of sparkle that reflects the light and makes my skin glow. Not to mention the high-tech vibe makes me feel so 3008.
