Does This Really Work? Personalized Face Scrub

istockphoto.com

Scrubs work to slough off dead skin cells and help clear clogged pores, but some can be too rough on skin and shouldn’t be used every day. Beauty brand Mark seems to have taken this into consideration by creating exfoliating granules (in dry form) that are separate from the liquid cleanser. This way you can decide how rough the scrub will be by adding as many or as few granules as you's like. I mix Mark That’s Deep Purifying Gel Cleanser ($7) with a few Go with the Grain Exfoliating Beads ($8) in the palm of my hand and scrub away.

The green cleanser feels cool and refreshing, and it's infused with natural skin-clearing ingredient black willow bark extract. The granules contain tiny particles of corn cob and rice bran to exfoliate and soften skin. The scrub feels gentle on my face—even when I add extra granules—and it tightens the pores on my nose. Although the products are sold separately, the unique containers can be combined into one unit. There’s really no way to go wrong since you have control, like a chemist creating a custom skincare product!
