Have you seen the latest creams with one bottle split into two separate containers, each with their own separate formula? I’ve seen a couple, so I decided to take a deeper look into this new trend. I tried Biore Skin Preservation Dual Fusion Moisturizer + SPF 30 ($15) and Pure Skin Care Black Rice Night Cream ($15). Besides the obvious difference of one being a day cream and the other being a night cream, both offer two formulas in different ways.

Biore’s Skin Preservation Dual Fusion Moisturizer + SPF 30 has one pump with two openings. From one opening you get a day lotion and from the other you get some very important sunscreen. The moisturizer and the sunscreen are separated inside the tube and when you pump, equal amounts of each come out side by side. This left a silky feeling on my skin. The white sunscreen blended in well, too. It works with antioxidants white tea and white lotus extracts to hydrate.

Pure Skin Care Black Rice Night Cream has two pumps side by side, which dispense a cream and a serum. What I like about this option is that you can pump more or less of one to get the consistency you want. I personally like a creamier consistency at night, so I pumped the lotion side more then the serum side. Regardless, it’s still a very light cream that doesn’t feel greasy. Its main ingredient is black rice, which helps smooth skin and reduce the onset of wrinkles.

Aside from looking cool, the purpose of these dual pumps is to maintain the potency of each formula— and give you better results. They both have a spot in my beauty ritual!
