Kat’s Closet: Summer Skin Care

In the summer it is super vital to keep your skin moisturized, protected and exfoliated. Especially now that more of it will be seen! Here are some of my favorite tips to keep your skin in tip-top shape.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate

For my face, I use a light exfoliator to remove dead skin cells. My favorite? Daily microfoliant by Dermalogica. For my hands and body I make my own exfoliating treatment: Combine brown sugar, lotion, and your favorite essential oils (I like lavender and rose). Work onto hands, then rinse. Follow with Shea butter. (Your hands can age faster than your face, so it’s good to start protecting them now!)

Use a mud mask

I personally love Ahava mud mask . After the beach or a long day of being in the sun (use SPF!) I apply it on my entire body and then wash off in the shower. This mask is awesome at removing toxins from your skin and tightening up your pores – your skin will feel amazing after.

Choose the right moisturizer

I use a retinol or peptide infused moisturizer. Retinol helps your skin retain collagen and helps keep those age lines at bay. Peptide also helps to prevent lines. Make sure your facial moisturizer has at least an SPF of 20.

Your skin speaks for you so make sure you keep it healthy and beautiful!
