More than 80 vying women are up for the title of Miss Universe 2011, which will be held live tonight in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This year marks the pageant’s 60th anniversary and we are excited not only about competition, but also to see one of our 15th Anniversary cover girls, NBC news anchor Natalie Morales, hosting alongside Bravo president Andy Cohen.
Could the beauty pageant’s next winner be Latina? We have no idea, but judging from history and last year’s titleholder—23-year-old Mexican Ximena Navarrete—and the fact that we Latinas traditionally perform very strongly at the world's most important beauty pageant, we're guessing we have a good shot. Miss Universe 2011 will air tonight on NBC at 8/7c.
