No one does a smokey eye like Eva Longoria. She (and her makeup pros) have really got it down to a science. For tips on how to master her red carpet go-to, we talked to Tanya “Carter” Ayer at Warren-Tricomi salon in NYC. After bonding over how we inherited our love for makeup from our Latina mamis, we got down to business. Here is her step-by-step guide. Remember, practice makes perfect!
Start by priming lids from lashes to brow. Then, add a touch of highlighter to inner corners and right under your brows. This will brighten the entire look.
Next, apply a navy shadow from the lash line into your crease, covering the entire lid and working your way slightly past outer corners. The further you go, the more dramatic the effect.
Beginning where your navy shadow left off, sweep on a dark brown shade from your crease and up to the brow bone. This navy/brown contrast instantly makes eyes appear larger.
Line upper and lower lashes with a black gel liner using a tiny shadow brush. Get as close to your lashes as possible, starting thin and ending in a thick line that goes up at outer corners.
Don’t forget to cover under eye circles. Use a concealer that’s slightly darker than your foundation for natural-looking coverage.
Use your liner to touch up any bare spots along your lash line then finish with two coats of black mascara. To get Eva’s super-flirty look, place a few individual lashes along your outer corner.
