Nadine Velazquez lights up My Name is Earl every Thursday night with her gorgeous looks and comedic timing. Latina's Sandra Vanessa Mariscal had a chance to dig around this Chicago-raised Puerto Rican stunner's makeup bag and glean some tips from the consummate pro.

How would you describe your day-to-day makeup look?

Very fresh. My palette is very rosy and natural. I like my cheeks to look like they were pinched. I usually get all my ideas at a photo shoot, when I get to work with a makeup artists, look at what they have and just write it down. I don't usually like a smoky eye; if there is any smokiness, it's got to be a light color.

What makeup brands do you use?

Benefit is usually what I use in the day. I use their lip pencils and their Dandelion blush, and I also really like Stila's Night Flower palette. It's got four eye shadows, a blush and two shades of lip gloss. And then I have another blush by Cargo called Topeka. I get a lot of compliments on that one because it's kind of rosy, but it's bronzy at the same time. I don't like bronzy when it's dark brown.

What's your favorite lipstick?

I put lipliner on first--Benefit Siren--and then I'll dab on some Benefit Ooh. It's called a sheer cream blusher, but you can use it on your lips and they'll look pinched or stained. Then I take the sponge end of the lip liner and just blend it all in.

Do you like wearing false eyelashes?

Yes, I like the shape they give. When I buy fake eyelashes, I buy different kinds depending on how I want my eyelashes to look. You can get a fan look, a thicker look, a more sparse look...it just depends what my mood is. But I don't wear them during the day!

Lastly, is there anything you always carry in your makeup bag for your hair?

Bobby pins. I also use Biosilk shine serum because it makes my hair soft. I just put that on when I get out of the shower, let my hair air dry or blow dry it, and that's it. I don't really fuss with my hair anymore after that.
