Meltproof Your Makeup

Prevent smears and smudges with these pro secrets.

1. Start with primer (like Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30). “It stops sweat and heat from ruining your foundation,” says makeup artist Carola González.

2. Stick to a lightweight  foundation or tinted moisturizer, like CoverGirl NatureLuxe ($12), or Clinique Moisture Surge ($25).

3. Skip cream shadow, which melts in humidity. Instead, dust on powder eye shadow or draw a waterproof liquid eyeliner along your upper lashes. We put like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($20) to the test in sweltering Caribbean temps and it lasted all day long!
