The Inside Scoop on Eva’s Makeup Routine!

When Eva Mendes recently met with us to announce her new role as Pantene’s celeb spokesmodel, we also chatted with the Latina behind Eva’s flawless skin—Cuban makeup artist Genevieve Herr.
Here’s the scoop on exactly what Genevieve uses to create Eva’s gorgeous look:
1. Genevieve is known for making Eva’s skin incredibly natural and fresh looking. To do so, she starts with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30, and then applies Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation, $42. “For perfect coverage, always pat the foundation on the skin with a damp sponge,” says Genevieve. “And if you have olive skin, mix a couple drops of Make Up For Ever Liquid Makeup in Camel, $38, into your foundation to warm up the tone.”
2. Next, Genevieve adds a glow with a pop of cream blush to the apples of Eva’s cheeks. Lately, she loves Edward Bess Compact Rouge, $38 (bergdorfgoodman.com). “Any shade is beautiful,” Genevieve says.
3. Because Eva has an oval-rectangle face shape and close-set eyes, Genevieve doesn’t outline the entire eye with eyeliner (which would make eyes seem closer together). Instead, she only applies liner to the middle of each lash, then adds a creamy shimmery highlighter to the inner corners of Eva’s eyes and a few coats of Lancome Definicils mascara, $25.
4. Eva’s brows are already perfect, says Herr, so she leaves them be. She finishes off Mendes's look with a touch of sheer lipstick (Genevieve often uses Lancome shades, like L’Absolu Nu in Beige Tulle, $29) and a very light dusting of Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder, $34.
