Does This Really Work: Lancôme Ôscillation Powerbooster

Vibrating mascaras were all the rage a few months ago, and now its cousin enters the market—the vibrating eyelash primer. Lancôme is the first to launch this innovative new beauty tool, called the Ôscillation Powerbooster ($39). The idea behind primers is that they coat lashes with a base that conditions and thickens, so they look fuller when you apply mascara. This one has a vibrating brush that does the work for you to get every lash. Aside from instant results, Powerbooster also has ingredients to treat your lashes, including madecassoside, an anti-hair-loss ingredient from a healing plant in Madagascar. It also contains arginine, a nourishing amino acid, and Ceramide R and vitamin B5 to condition. It sounds too good to be true, so I had to try it myself.

Here’s how it works: You press the button on the cap and glide it through your lashes as it buzzes. Don’t be scared—it doesn’t shake to the point where you’ll pull hair or hurt your eyes. In fact, it’s hard to see it shaking, but you do feel it. The first few times I tried it, it tickled, but then I got used to it. Once my lashes were coated in white, I followed with my regular black mascara. I had to use extra coats to make sure I covered all the white, but the results are long, plump, dramatic lashes every time. Tried and true! You can find it exclusively at Nordstrom now.
