Maybe it has something to do with my oily lids, but every shadow I try ends up creasing—especially cream formulas. So, although I usually don't believe in shadows that promise not to crease, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Tarte Lock & Roll Creaseless Cream & Powder Shadow Duo ($17, tarte.com) because it didn’t budge all day.

The two-sided stick contains a creamy color that you brush on lids as a base, then let dry for a few seconds. Then you apply the loose powder with the handy rollerball applicator on the other end. The key to the smudge-proof formula is the binding agents in the cream that are activated by the powder, so when they come together the shadow is set in place. I tried the Rose Gold shade, which left the prettiest gold wash on my lids. And the powder intensifies the color adding more metallic shimmer. I made sure to check in the mirror often to see how it was holding up. Chicas, this doesn’t crease. This shadow made a believer out of me!
