Does This Really Work: Baked LipColor

I just tried Laura Geller Baked Bites in Bronze Berry ($25). It might sound like a dessert, but it’s actually for your lips. Not just your ordinary lipcolor, this one is baked. How and why? Well, it starts off as a multi-hued liquid formula that is poured on terracotta and baked for 24 hours in Italy. This process allows the pigments to look richer and the formula to be smooth, long lasting and go on evenly.

I dabbed it on my lips using my finger. The texture is so unique that it’s hard to describe. It looks and feels like a plush velvet cushion. And it’s goes on lips like powder, but it’s not drying. The Baked Bites palette also comes with a gloss infused with Olive Oil, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to add shine and to moisturize. I think it acts like a topcoat for your lips. I applied both formulas in the morning and it withstood meals throughout the day. My only concern is that there is only one shade so far; it would be nice to have more options to play with. In the meantime, you can enjoy fresh baked cookies and not worry about your lipcolor fading.
