I washed my hair this weekend with my usual shampoo and conditioner, and when it came time to style I tried a new scientifically-based curl-defining cream that shall remain nameless (go ahead, take a guess!). It's a light cream that is supposed to be ultra frizz-fighting, but once I rubbed it throughout my hair, it left my curls parched like straw, even though I had also added my usual leave-in conditioner! They felt dry, looked dry and were frizzy—not good.

Many readers have inquired about the state of their brows in relation to their hair color. More specifically, when is it necessary to dye them? It may be tempting to color brows after you’ve made a drastic change in hair color—like, say, if you’ve gone from brunette to blonde. But the truth is that you don't have to be so matchy-matchy. Here’s the rule of thumb: If you can find the shade of your eyebrows somewhere on your head, you don’t need to dye them. So if you highlight your brown hair, chances are your dark brows won’t need to be lightened.

Does your hair get frizzy from sleeping on it? This used to happen to me all the time. I would go to bed with beautiful curls and wake up with frizzy, tangled hair from rubbing against my pillow. My solution? I started using a silk pillowcase. The smooth texture minimizes any tangling and friction that can lead to frizz. Instead of my hair rubbing against my pillow, it now glides on it—and curls stay intact. You won’t just be dreaming of good hair days, you’ll have them too!
