On the set of New Year's Eve in New York City yesterday, Sofia Vergara got a new look for the Garry Marshall-directed romantic comedy. The Colombian actress added a fringe to her pulled-back brunette locks. The blunt bangs trend has been making the rounds in Hollywood, and we must say it is refreshing to see Sofia in a new look. What do you think?

Lately, a few of our Latina stars have been rocking heavy, blunt bangs and we're sort of conflicted about this new trend.
Naya Rivera stepped out sporting some fierce fringe at Fox TV's TCA All-Star Party on January 11, while Ana de la Reguera looked bangin' at Covergirl Cosmetic's 50th Anniversary Party on January 5.

It always surprises me how healthy and shiny abuela’s hair looks at her age and it’s because she is constantly using natural treatments on her locks that have been in the family for years! One of our favorites is an avocado hair masque. You're probably wondering: Why would I smear green goop all over my head? Well, avocado contains proteins and natural oils that moisturize and nourish your hair. This masque also calls for shea butter, which helps protect and repair a dry and damaged mane. Dedicate your Saturday afternoon to some self-pampering and try this DIY masque.

One of you recently emailed me this beauty question: My scalp is suddenly flaking. Is it dry skin or dandruff? And when I read it, I immediately scratched my head—not because I was stumped, but because I’ve been having the exact same issue!
This happens a lot in the winter. The dry air is sucking the moisture out of your skin—including the skin on your scalp, which causes it to flake. You’ll know that it’s dry skin and not dandruff because the flakes are very small (dandruff tends to have larger, irregular-shaped flakes).

The other day I was looking through some old family albums, and I couldn’t help but notice how shiny my hair was when I was a little girl. That’s because mami was constantly using abuelita’s natural remedies to keep my locks bouncy and beautiful. One remedy she used was a deep conditioning treatment made from eggs and mayonnaise. Eggs contain protein and vitamins that keep hair healthy and moisturized and work with the mayo to restore shine to dry, damaged hair.

Our latest cover girl Christina Milian showed off some incredibly long hair extensions when she rang in the New Year at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. We’ve gotten used to the waist-skimming hair lots of celebs rocked in 2010, but Christina’s mane hits well past her hip!
Generally, as long as the hair looks healthy, we’re all for going as long as you dare (especially for a fun night out, like New Year’s Eve!) but we want to know what you think!
