So easy, and so summery: Sarah Shahi’s to-the-side braid is just the thing for a hot day. It keeps frizz in check, and makes her sun dress extra cute. We’ll be copying this style all weekend!
To get the look:
-First, to guarantee your braid stays put, make sure your hair has some grip to it. The easiest way to do this is to skip washing it for a day or two. Otherwise, apply a styling cream (like John Frieda Strength Restoring Smoothing Lotion, $6.49, drugstore.com) through strands.
-Now, part your hair on one side.
-Then pull all of your hair over to the side opposite your part. With any to-the-side style, it always looks best when you do this.
-Divide hair into three equal sections, and loosely braid it, stopping a few inches from the end.
-Tie off your braid with an elastic that matches your hair color.
-Let any shorter layers fall loosely along your face, but don’t tuck them or the braid behind your ear—keep the hair pulled across your forehead and over your ear like Sarah does (you can use a bobby pin to hold it in place if you need to).
