New 'Do Every Day: Miami Fashion Week Sexy Sixties Style!

This week, we’ve asked our go-to hairstylist, Oribe, to give us his take on how to copy our favorites looks from Fashion Week Swim in Miami. Yesterday, he showed us how to recreate an awesome textured ponytail, and today he’s walking us through this glam half-up, Brigitte Bardot style.

Here’s how to get the look on the Aqua di Lara runway:

  1. When hair is damp, distribute a smoothing serum (Oribe uses his Gel Serum, $58, oribe.com) through strands, then blow dry it straight.
  2. Curl all of your hair with a 2-inch jumbo size curling iron. This will give you a great set and plenty of volume to work with.
  3. Brush the curls out well.
  4. Gather a section at the front of the hair – essentially, the entire top – and mist a texturizing spray throughout (Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray, $39, oribe.com is amazing), then tease slightly at the root for height.
  5. Brush the top section back, twist once, and secure with a pin. Notice that the look is round on top, not cone-shaped. Make sure that the shape is soft and even when you pin it!
