Dance Ready Side-Pony:

STEP 1

Spray dry roots with a volumizer (try Matrix Total Results Wonder Boost, $16) to add lift.

STEP 2

Make a side part, then tie hair in a ponytail right behind your ear on the opposite side of your part.

STEP 3

For soft waves, wrap large sections around a large curling iron; for tight curls, grab small sections and curl with a small curling iron.

STEP 4

Use your fingers to pull apart some of the curls so they’re looser and fuller.

STEP 5

Finish with hair spray. An anti-humidity one (like Garnier Fructis Full Control, $4) will keep strands tame.
