Eva Longoria Parker made industry news when she chopped her flowing tresses into a perky housewife-worthy bob. But for the glittering and opulent ALMA Awards, she flipped so many hairstyles with that little ol' bob that the fashion police couldn't keep up with all the quick changes.
Eva's longtime hairstylist, Ken Paves, based each hairstyle on a photo of an old school glamour puss, such as the side-swept up-do of Sophia Loren, the soft, wavy bob of Elizabeth Taylor and the sleeked back look of Twiggy. Says Paves, "I did this because I wanted to show the versatility of short hair and how old Hollywood still influences glamour today, but also to showcase Eva's versatility as a style icon."
Amazingly, Paves only had moments to do each 'do to match Longoria Parker's many outfit changes—a technique that usually takes hours in the salon. "Each look was 'prepped' [cut and styled] ahead of the show using human hair clip-in extensions from my hairdo by Ken Paves line," explains Paves on his lightning-quick technique (visit hairuwear.com for product information). "During each change we had an average of 10 minutes, which meant to and from stage and the actual change, so I only had 2-4 minutes to change her hair." The trick was all in the clip-in extensions.
