Nicole Richie’s retro ponytail is definitely our favorite look of the week! The blonde shade is beautiful, her hair has never seemed healthier, and the high pony and thick fringe make her look so sophisticated and youthful.
1. On dry hair, apply a heat protection spray (Andy used Wella Professionals Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray) to each section, then smooth with a flat iron.
2. Next, separate a mohawk section of the hair, and clip it out of the way. Pull the rest of the hair into a super high pony, and secure with two elastics at the crown of the head so that it’s really tight.
3. Release the mohawk section and lightly blast with a blow dryer to find a part and smooth out any kinks. Shake it out to let any bangs fall forward, then divide in into two even sections.
4. Wrap each section around the base of the ponytail to hide the elastics; hold with bobby pins.
