Last night at the ALMA Awards, Eva Longoria pulled off a pretty amazing feat. Besides hosting the evening, executive producing the show and accepting the award for Desperate Housewives, the star changed her hairstyle practically every time she walked out on stage!
Even if you don’t have a team of stylists waiting in the wings to help you transform throughout the evening, you can still pull off any of these looks by yourself! Here’s how:
After you wash and condition your hair, apply a styling cream (like Moroccanoil Hydrating, $29, amazon.com), rough dry it, then brush it back with a paddle brush to make it smooth. Switch to a round brush to bend the ends. Now that you’re done with the hard part, the rest of the styling is easy! Here’s how to get three of her glam looks:
For Eva’s Pretty Ponytail:
Brush all your hair back with a paddle brush, gathering it in one hand at the back of your head. Tilt your head back as you tie it as tight as you can with an elastic band. This prevents bumps and keeps the hair tight.
For Her Romantic Side-Bun:
Make a deep side part, then pull all of your hair over to the opposite side. Tie it into a low ponytail right behind your ear (use bobby pins to hold the hair tightly to the side). Twist the tail around the base of the ponytail, pinning it in place. To confirm that the placement is correct, look at yourself in the mirror; you should be able to see the bun peeking out past your ear.
For Her Messy Extra-High Updo:
Brush your hair back into the ponytail (see directions above). With your paddle brush, tease your ponytail to make it as big as possible. Then twist it up loosely, and randomly pin it against your head. The messier, the better!
