Curly Qs: Scalp Soothers

Suffering from an itchy scalp? Dry, cold air can make skin lose moisture and feel itchy. Whenever I start scratching my scalp, I reach for SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Oil Therapy Dry Scalp Leave-In Treatment ($5, drugstores) and apply a small amount on troubled spots. This light cream calms any irritation with essential oils from coconut, olive, avocado and jojoba. It doesn’t make my hair greasy and has a nice floral scent. Another alternative I like to use is Philip Kingsley Scalp Tonic ($11 for 75ml). This has more of a liquid consistency and has antimicrobial properties to treat scalp conditions. I love the fresh cooling sensation it gives from the menthol in the formula. Both are meant to be used after you shampoo and condition and left on till your next wash—I've been known to reapply several times. They truly get me and my scalp through the winter months.

Chicas, what are some of your go-to products?
