Curly Qs: Haircut Drama

I’m trying to let my hair grow. I had it shoulder-length short for several years and I’ve been craving long locks. Six months ago, I went to my stylist for my usual layered cut. But this time, I told her to just layer the top half, or crown, of my hair because I planned on letting it grow out. Now, the bottom half of my hair is really long and the top half looks noticeably shorter in comparison instead of an even cascading effect. Basically, my haircut is in an in-between stage.

I love layers; I think it’s the best way to liven up curls and avoid the dreaded bell-shaped, or pyramid, look that happens when curly hair is all one length. But at this point, I’m torn between cutting off all my long layers, letting my hair grow out gradually, or going back to my stylist for an evenly layered cut. What would you do?
