Curly Qs: Blissful Updo

I’m engaged! Yay! I’m so excited about it that somehow I manage to make everything wedding-related: A pretty dress in a magazine could be the perfect bridesmaid’s gown. Silver cufflinks online are perhaps good for the groom’s gift. Purple calla lilies at my friends house? Need those for my bouquet. I guess this is where the phrase “wedding mode” comes into play, annoying as it may be. But anyway, when it comes to my hair, I’ve been trying to find an elegant updo that will show off my curls on that special day. I don’t want a slicked-back hairstyle; I’m looking for a more natural, loosely gathered style. So, I’ve been checking out pictures online.

As I researched a 'do for my I Do, I remembered that fellow curly-haired chica Adrienne Bailon wore a beautiful updo to the premiere of Cheetah Girls One World last year that caught my attention. It had a modern pouf at the top for some volume. And the curls looked effortlessly pinned throughout the back, starting from the crown to the nape of the neck. Bailon probably used a smoothing cream to control fly-aways and achieve the looser strands around her face. I think this style is glamorous, yet it has a playful flare to it. This might just be the one for me. What about you, ladies: Have you seen a hairstyle on a celeb that you’ve fallen in love with? Please share.
