Verky Arcos Fashion Director
A writer and editor with expertise in fashion and lifestyle coverage, Verky Baldonado is currently Latina magazine's Fashion Director. Baldonado has written Latin-inspired travel and food related content and has contributed to celebrity Q&As, red carpet video interviews, and the annual “Reasons to Love Being Latina” feature.
As the Fashion Director, she prepares each issue’s fashion lineup, pulls merchandise, styles and writes the fashion content for both the magazine, contributes to Latina.com and works closely with the business team on fashion business development. In addition to her fashion responsibilities, she has written her own weekly Bridal Blog, “A Modern Latina Bride,” where she shared her experiences, inspiration, and advice with readers as she went through her journey of planning her own wedding. Verky is U.S.-born and of Ecuadorean and Puerto Rican descent who speaks and writes fluent Spanish.
Prior to Latina, Verky worked as a photo shoot coordinator at Universal/Island Def Jam Music Group. At Island Def Jam, Verky coordinated and produced various album packaging photo shoots for music artists like Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and The Killers. Verky holds a B.A. in Communications Arts from Montclair State University and currently resides in Manhattan with her husband and daughter.

How has your style changed while being pregnant?
Actually, I haven’t shopped in a maternity store just yet, but for the most part I’ve been wearing a stretchier version of what I would wear in my normal life – jeans, tees, a leather jacket, and heels that aren’t as high.

The Mexican up-and-coming designer Rolando Santana is known for his feminine silhouettes in muted colors like grey, black, and ivory, but in his newest collection he showed off a completely different take.
