I have always believed one of the best ways to teach your kids is by doing. Show them the way. The same is true for health and fitness. My husband and I are avid fitness buffs and try to work out several times a week, we also watch what we eat and encourage our kids to try new things.
It was 30 years ago but I remember it as clear as yesterday. I was eight years old and at my grandmother's house in Brazil. She woke us up early to watch the royal wedding. I remember seeing Princess Diana emerge from the glass coach like Cinderella. She was a beautiful bride and that enormous dress and train took my breath away.
I am daughter of foreign service officers and despite the fact that I was born in Brazil, my life was non-stop travel (France, Italy, Morroco, UK) and work. Love eventually brought me to the U.S. Even though, I've been here for almost 6 years (I am now a married mother of two), it's kind of hard to fit in to this new American way of life. You're American-born, but half Puerto Rican and half Brazilian. How do you manage that?
