A lot of people don’t realize that I’m Latina, which is fine. One thing about being Latina is that there isn’t one look that comes with the territory. I don’t expect people to know my cultural background just by glancing at me. I do, however, expect that when I tell people my family is from Puerto Rico, that I will be believed and not accused of trying to be something that I’m not. It usually goes something like this: a person having a conversation with me discovers one way or another that I’m Puerto Rican and fluent in Spanish.
I never really got down with this whole Twitter thing, but my friends kept pressing me to try it. I finally decided to give in and set up an account. It’s actually a pretty cool way to stay connected and see what people are doing. Believe me, I thought it was crazy at first, but now I’m all over this thing. If you're not on there, you should start immediately. Then please make sure you check me out. We can catch up on Latina.com and Twitter. It'll be fun!
Kiyan turns two tomorrow! We're planning a family get together to celebrate, and as long as there's plenty of Dora and Diego stuff around he'll be thrilled. He loves them. I'm back in Denver now; I spent most of the week in Los Angeles just doing random work stuff. Had a couple of meetings and an audition (keep your fingers crossed!), but I had to get back home to get things ready for Kiyan's birthday. Time flies—feels like he was in my belly just yesterday.
So, Charm School wrapped a couple of days ago (YEAH!!!). It was a lot of work, but so fun and fulfilling. I was very happy with the end result and I think you will really enjoy this season. Make sure you watch! I'm back in Denver now with my family for a couple of days before I have to go back to L.A. to work on some auditions. Right now, I’m trying to get Kiyan potty trained. He turns 2 on March 7th. Let me tell you, potty training is not easy! Do you guys have any tips? I'll take all the help I can get. He’s getting the concept, but not following through 100%.
Hey, what’s up! I want to welcome you to my new blog on Latina.com. I’m so happy to have a chance to reach out to you and let you know what’s going on inside my world. I’m working hard (as always) on some TV projects and film stuff. I’m executive producing some shows, auditioning, and still hosting, so I’ve been BUSY!
