Boxing Legend and Mayor of Nicaragua’s Capital, Alexis Arguello, Found Dead

The 57-year-old Mayor of Managua (Nicaragua’s capital) and former three-time world boxing champion, Alexis Arguello, was found dead in his home Wednesday morning from a gunshot wound to his chest.

There is speculation that the ex-boxing champ also known as, “El Flaco Explosivo,” committed suicide, but no official confirmation has been given. Local media reported that Arguello experienced depression and had recently taken a leave of absence from his mayoral duties.
